Sketchy Paint Spills

In the last edition of Australian Simply Cards I had a coffee break feature. In this feature was this simple stamped card. It has been a very popular card, I guess partly for it's simplicity and partly for it's versatility. I really can be used for any gender and any age group just by swapping some colours.  Here is how I made this card - for those who may have missed the magazine. Instructions 1.         Cut an A4 sheet of white cardstock in half at 14.8cm x 21cm .   2.       Score and fold in half at 10.5cm. 3.       Cut another piece of white smooth cardstock to 14.3cm x 10cm . 4.       Stamp the sentiment with the Versafine ink in the bottom right corner. 5.       Stamp the various paint spills and drips with the coloured inks, to your liking. 6.       Die cut the Sketchy Rings fro...

Australian Simply Cards

I have had some wonderful expressions of interest from my advert in the January edition of Australian Simply Cards. Thank you everyone. The response has been overwhelming. These are the cards that were placed in the ad so I thought I would tell you a bit about them, the dies used and the prices of these dies.  Firstly though, let me explain, I am a very small business at present, running from a shop on my property. I carry small quantities of stock, but continually order more stock in, so if I don't have something I will get it ASAP. I don't currently have a website with products on but you can sign up to my newsletter  and I will send out updates as stock arrives. Simply send me an email to kookacft@bigpond.com to request to join my mailing list.  Now onto the cards: This card is made using the Sue Wilson Caribbean Island Background die. I have cut it in ivory cardstock and teamed it up with some Pion Designs Paris Flea Market papers.  Th...

July Challenge - Red, White & Blue

I was thrilled this month to see just as many beginners/intermediate entries in the challenge. Well done all of you and thank you for joining in the fun. The challenge is all about taking you out of your comfort zone and it should be fun. Thank you all for having a go. Sadly there can only be one winner but rest assured that all your cards were enjoyed and voted for. I don't think there was a single card that didn't have a vote! However there can only be one winner in each category and therefore it is my pleasure to announce that the winner in the Beginners is Daphne   this is Daphne's first ever entry, so well done Daphne.  The winner in the Advanced section is Rhonda Well done Rhonda.  Do you all notice a pattern with the winning cards.  Well done girls. You both receive a $20 gift voucher to spend in store.  The other wonderful entries in the Advanced category are these: Sue Sue  Maralene...

2013 Week 1

Triple Heart Easel Card   For our first week of classes for 2013 I chose a theme of New Year, New Beginnings. We made a Happy New Year card and a wedding card.       The wedding card was a triple easel card, made with Spellbinders Classic Hearts and Scalloped Hearts. The paper I used is by  Melissa Frances called Blessings.   I used Marianne Creatables LR0226 for the leaves and LR0242 for the flower on the largest heart. I have used Nellie Snellen punches for the other flowers, Spellbinders Ribbon Banner dies and Justrite Stampers 'Ever After Antique Labels One' for the sentiment.     The wedding rings were cut out of silver mirror board and the ink I used was Tattered Rose Distress Ink.         The Happy New Year card is something different for me. I don't normally do this sort of thing, but just before Christmas I received stock of the Craftables clock (CR1234) and Cheery  Ly...
