Class cards from June

Here are some more cards that we made back in June last year.

This one is made using the Bo Bunny "Timepiece" collection. I just loooove these papers!
A simple layered card with an organza bow and Le Suh 3D.


This embroidered card was designed by my Mum, Patricia. As soon as the girls in class saw it there was lots of  "oohs and aahs" and I was asked if we could make it in class. It really is a beautiful card and the 3D came in a few different colours so there were some nice colour combinations.


A week later we did this version of the card. Again in a variety of different colours.


June was the anniversary of Evelyn Wilkinson's passing. I had the privilege of working with Evelyn and knew her for about 8 years. She was a huge influence on me and a great mentor. She was the one who told me that I could teach classes. I would NEVER have thought I could, but she saw something in me that I didn't know was there. I will always be grateful to Evelyn for her faith in me and for all that she did for me.

The next two cards were designed by Evelyn and taught in her classes, which I attended for about 6 years. In her memory we reproduced these cards.

July's Challenge Winners

July's challenge was 'Christmas with Ribbon'. I thought that would give everyone a bit of a challenge and something to think about. We received some lovely entries too, some really different ideas, what a wonderful effort by all of you. I couldn't believe the amount of entries!!  Unfortunately there can only be one winner in each section though.  In the beginners/intermediate section the winner was... Shirley Congratulations Shirley on your win and your great Ribbon Christmas Tree card.  Other entries in the beginners/intermediate section were: Olive Jean Olive Jean In the advanced section the winner was  Pam with this lovely ribbon pine cone card. August Challenge

Thank you to everyone who entered the August Challenge. The theme was "Beautiful Borders" and I think it was quite a challenge as we didn't get as many entries as usual. We did get some gorgeous cards though and the winner this time was   Glenda   with her stunning ivory and gold card using the Quickutz Die - Petite Petals. Congratulations Glenda, you now have a $20 voucher to spend in store.   Here is Glenda's winning card     The encouragement award this month goes to Jean Riches for her lovely use of the Marianne Die to create a fan. What a great idea! The die itself is gorgeous but teamed up with this beautiful Martha Stewart punched border and hand made flowers, it's beautiful. Well done Jean.     This card was also made by Glenda and it takes the theme of borders out of the box, by using flowers as the border.
