Hi everyone, Just a real quick post as I have to go and pack for our camping trip this weekend. We're off to Casino, NSW for the archery State Of Origin shoot. As promised though, I am here quickly to announce the winner of the competition. It was close between two cards again and just one vote separated them. There's a saying that springs to mind "always the Bridesmaid, never the bride". That makes me think of how poor Rhonda must feel...yep you came in 2nd again Rhonda, with card 9. So close...again! The theme this month is "BUTTERFLIES"  I am seeing butterflies everywhere at the moment...No I'm not seeing things...I really am seeing them in lots of products and cards lately. There are dies, papers, embossing folders, stickers...they seem to be everywhere. So I decided to make the theme for May "Butterflies". There are no shortage of products to use and lets face it...we all have something to do with butterflies in our collection of craft supplies, don't we?   Now don't forget the card needs to be your own design, a NEW design...not one you have entered in a competition before, and it must be hand made by you. When I said I might keep you all in suspense for the weekend, I didn't really mean it...honest! As it turned out after class on Saturday I didn't have time to get on the computer to let you all know the winner. I'm so sorry :( But I took photos of all of the cards this morning and I can tell you that we actually had a 3 way tie. Card 10 by Pat and cards 14 & 16 by Rhonda all tied with 4 votes each. I couldn't decide between them (they are all so beautiful), so I got the 3 girls who were there at the draw on Saturday to help decide the winner. SO...without further ado, here is the winner.... For something just that little bit different we made this triangle box card and it was a bit of a challenge. Once you have the gist of how it works though it's quite easy.  Made with Kaisercraft's "Choir" paper but it could be made in any designer paper and for any occasion. The sleigh is from Marianne Creatables and is LR0178. As you can see the strip across the middle slides off to allow you to open the box. Inside you can put money, or a gift card or something small like a hanky for Grandma. A cute novel way to give someone something small. To decorate the centrepiece I've used Labels 4 from Spellbinders and the sleigh. Roses from Green Tara and some seam binding for the bow.
