March Card Challenge

This months challenge was “Add A Flourish”.

In the beginners/intermediate section Olive was the winner with her card (B1) using a Graphic 45 paper and Kaisercraft blooms. The Flourish is a Cheery Lynn Design – Fanciful Flourish.

Other entries in this section were from Mary with a lovely pink and white card using the flower we made in class recently. I think (don’t quote me though) that the flourish is a My Favourite Things flourish.

Runner up in this section was this card from Jean P. The blue and white with a hint of pink is striking. Jean has used the Cheery Lynn Ivy Corner Flourish on this card.

Also made by Jean P is this cameo card using Marianne dies. The flourish is from the Marianne Frame LR0116.

In the advanced section our winner this month was Rhonda with her purple and white card (A5). Rhonda has used Marianne dies, including the LR0157 Heather flourish die. The flowers are hand made, except for the two Cherry Blossoms.

Also in this section was this card by Jenelle using a combination of Marianne Designs and Memory Box dies. The flower is handmade using Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret dies. Even the rosebuds are hand made. Jenelle’s cards can be seen here http://dragonflycardsandcreations.blogspot.com.au/

This lovely silver, white and yellow card was made by Maralene for a family members 21st birthday. Those who know Maralene know how much she loves her bling and this card is no exception with the flourish being rhinestones.

This card was also made by Rhonda using a pearl flourish this time. The borders are Spellbinders and the stamp from JustRite Papercrafts.

This card was made by Glenda using the Spellbinders Fancy Lattice background and the flowers are Heartfelt Creations Tattered Blossoms. Glenda has inked them and combined them with some red netting for a lovely effect. The flourish leaves are Memory Box Fresh Foliage.

Another card from Glenda, this time using Spellbinders Majestic Labels 25 and I think Glenda said Wink of Stella pens for the colouring. Rhinestone flourishes finish off the card.

Another card from Rhonda, this time using a stamped flourish. Sorry I”m not sure what stamp Rhonda has used but I did notice that the LOVE die cut (from Marianne Designs) has been stamped with the same image.

Thanks girls for all your lovely entries and congratulations to our winners for this month. Looking forward to next month Smile

Sketchy Paint Spills

In the last edition of Australian Simply Cards I had a coffee break feature. In this feature was this simple stamped card. It has been a very popular card, I guess partly for it's simplicity and partly for it's versatility. I really can be used for any gender and any age group just by swapping some colours.  Here is how I made this card - for those who may have missed the magazine. Instructions 1.         Cut an A4 sheet of white cardstock in half at 14.8cm x 21cm .   2.       Score and fold in half at 10.5cm. 3.       Cut another piece of white smooth cardstock to 14.3cm x 10cm . 4.       Stamp the sentiment with the Versafine ink in the bottom right corner. 5.       Stamp the various paint spills and drips with the coloured inks, to your liking. 6.       Die cut the Sketchy Rings fro...
