2013 Week 1

Triple Heart Easel Card

For our first week of classes for 2013 I chose a theme of New Year, New Beginnings. We made a Happy New Year card and a wedding card.

The wedding card was a triple easel card, made with Spellbinders Classic Hearts and Scalloped Hearts. The paper I used is by  Melissa Frances called Blessings.

I used Marianne Creatables LR0226 for the leaves and LR0242 for the flower on the largest heart. I have used Nellie Snellen punches for the other flowers, Spellbinders Ribbon Banner dies and Justrite Stampers 'Ever After Antique Labels One' for the sentiment.

The wedding rings were cut out of silver mirror board and the ink I used was Tattered Rose Distress Ink.

The Happy New Year card is something different for me. I don't normally do this sort of thing, but just before Christmas I received stock of the Craftables clock (CR1234) and Cheery  Lynn 'Celebrate' die sets. They just screamed out "New Year" when added together.

I used Memory Box's Snowflake corner to represent bubbles from the Champagne in the glasses. The top of the bottle is gold mirror board and the labels are outlined with Sharpie Gold Metallic pen. I added some Glossy Accents to create bubbles in the champagne.

September Competition

SOMETHING OLD The theme for this competition was to make a card using something old. Something you bought years ago and you’ve never used or you haven’t used it in years. You know that thing you’ve had sitting in a drawer forever and you wonder if you’ll ever use it. I thought this would make for some interesting cards and it sure did! I have received 17 lovely entries into the competition this month and some by email as well It is hard to judge a card by looking at a print out of it, so I thought I would share all the cards online with you prior to voting this month. That way some of you will get to see a digital image of the cards first. A couple of them were really hard to photograph though, so it' works both ways. Some are better to judge face to face. Anyway, I’m not putting names on them and I’m not 100% sure that these are in the correct order but here are the cards that were entered. I’ll try to add what is old about them to give you a bit of an idea. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...
